PowerGoodies, the loyalty platform for electric vehicle (EV) drivers, is proud to share the results of a large-scale independent analysis by data science firm Atrici, confirming the effectiveness of its rewards program in driving EV charging behavior.

The analysis, based on nearly 800,000 charging sessions, examined charging behavior before and after EV drivers began using the PowerGoodies app. Focusing on a core group of 295 users with reliable before-and-after data, the study shows a significant increase in energy consumption — and therefore charging frequency — following the introduction of loyalty rewards.

Key results include:

  • Full Electric Vehicles (BEVs): +12.9 kWh per week, a 24.3% increase

  • Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEVs): +4.3 kWh per week, a 26.6% increase

These findings demonstrate that the PowerGoodies platform not only helps Charge Point Operators (CPOs) drive more traffic to their locations, but also meaningfully changes driver behavior in favor of more frequent and consistent charging.

“We started PowerGoodies with the belief that rewards and loyalty — proven drivers of engagement in retail — could also work in EV charging. This independent analysis shows that our intuition was right,” said Jan van Ottele, CEO of PowerGoodies. “We’re enabling CPOs to create stronger relationships with EV drivers, increase utilization of infrastructure, and accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility.”

The statistical analysis was conducted by Atrici, a firm specializing in causal inference and data-driven behavioral impact. The methodology controlled for confounding variables to isolate the effect of the PowerGoodies app on actual charging behavior.
